Inaugural Regional Swimming Sports Awards
The Inaugural Regional Swimming Sports Awards were held at Parklands on 15 May 2011 and the following Nerang Swimming Club Winners were recognised.
Age Group Champions:
- Stevi Dolan 1st Girls 14 & Over
- Shania Dolan 2nd 14 yrs & Over
- Judah-Moses Robb 2nd Boys 14 & Over
- Hannah-Grace Robb 3rd Girls 12 yrs
- Momo Sugiyama 3rd Girls 8yrs
Winners Received;
1st place , a trophy, $75.00 & a McDonald’s Drink Bottle
2nd place, a trophy, $50.00 & a McDonald’s Drink Bottle
3rd place, a trophy, $25.00 & a McDonald’s Drink Bottle
Swimmer of the Stroke received, $200.00, towel sponsored by McDonald’s & a trophy.
Individual Medley & Breaststroke: Michaela Giddy.

The Club itself placed 6th in the Region with over 600 points.

Gold Coast Championships
We like to wish our 27 competitors all the best over the three days at Miami.

South Coast Swim Team
Congratulations to the swimmers who secured themselves a spot on the very competitive South Coast Swim Team to represent the Gold Coast at the School State Championships 7th -9 th of April 2011.

Please be advised that the SQ Long Course Qualifying Meet 3 set down for 26-27th of February has been cancelled.
Congratulations to Teah Craig for receiving the January "Swimmer Of The Month" award.
Teah is an excellent swimmer and has shown great commitment in her training. Teah recently participated in the QLD State Championships finishing 5th in the 800 Freestyle and 8th in the 200 Backstroke. She also did well in all her other events.
Teah is a cheerful and highly respected squad member. Well done Teah.

Club Captains
We are pleased to announce that our grant application with the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund to purchase a Colorado Timing System was successful.
The starter system for this system was awarded to us by the Swimming Australia Telstra Assistance Fund.
The Nerang Swimming Club would like to thank the GCBF and the Telstra Assistance Fund for their generous contribution to our club and the swimming community.
This timing system is going to be of great value to the club and we are truly grateful for their support.
A big Thank You also to Ken Best for doing a great job putting in the successfull application. Well done Ken!
