Hi Members, Congratulations to all swimmers that swam at Regionals.
Everybody swam really well and you will find the results for our Club on the Results Page. You will also find some new pictures from Regionals and Southport Downunder on the Gallery Page. Thank you to all parents that helped at the Regional Meet with timekeeping. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.

Some of our swimmers in front of our new banner at the Southport DownUnder Meet on the 19th of July. It was a great day with lot's of PB's achieved and medals won. You can follow the link on the results page to view your times. On the 2nd and 3rd of August is Gold Coast Winter SC. We are taking 27 swimmers, which is a record. The club is truly growing now. Remember to get there early to get a good spot. Good luck everybody and have fun!
Everybody, our swimmers that is, should have had a swimsuit fitting by now. Please see Kate or John if not. The new suits will arrive soon in time for the Heritage SC Meet.
The design looks amazing and will make us stand out! Can't wait!
Welcome to the new 08/09 club season!

May, 2008
Congratulations
Kate Brookes-Peterson and Courtney Pierce!
The Nerang swimmers finished 1st and 3rd at the 2km Noosa Blue Water Swim on the 18th of May.
Kate won the female open event beating rival Melissa Gorman, while Courtney finished an impressive 3rd in her age group. Well done girls!
Kate is taking on the world
Our very own Kate Brookes-Peterson, Australia's only dual medallist (two time bronze) from last year's world championships, has finished a close-up fifth in her debut swim over 25km on the final day of the FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships.
Kate was in the hunt until the final lap in an impressive performance which saw fellow Australian, the experienced Shelley Clark in seventh.
Australian National Open Water Head Coach Greg Towle was full of praise for Kate who finished third over 5km and 10km in Melbourne last year.
"Kate was right in the hunt and was fourth until the closing stages - a very encouraging, courageous effort for her first attempt" said Towle.
Kate also finished 8th in the 5km swim in Seville after a nightmare start witnessed her getting swallowed by her rivals. Kate had to swim the hard way through the pack and finished 8th in a time of 1hr 19sec. Just 15 sec behind race winner Larisa Ilchenko of Russia.
This is a amazing achievement. Well done Kate, our first World Championship Representative.
National Age Championships 2008
Congratulations also to Michaela Giddy and Ethan Robb who represented our Club at the National Age Championships in Brisbane in April.
Michaela is now ranked 12th in Australia in her age group in the 100 Breast stroke. Congratulations Michaela and well done guys, this is a great achievement and we are sure of great things to come.
Winter Club Night
For those who haven't heard, our last winter club night will be held on Tuesday the 12th of August at 5pm.
Our first winter club night ever on the 13th of May turned out to be quite a success. It is nice to keep club nights going and we all enjoyed pizza afterwards. Thanks to all who helped.
Club wins Platypus Lagoon Competition
We have won the Mc Donald's Shade Marquee in the Jx Club Competition. Thanks to everybody who entered. This one will come in very handy at our next swim meet in February next year.
